The Energizer Ad

Hey there. I just came from another discussion board that had a post about the new Energizer ad on tv. It shows a child attempting to put a cat in the dryer. Personally I feel this will just lead people to try and do that at home to cats. The people at this post thought so too. This particular post asked people to contact the Energizer website stating how they feel to help get the ad off the air. I am going to ask the same thing of you guys. So please come here and fill out the contact form to get the message across.

Thank you.

Annie

Never in my life have I felt lead to do anything I saw on TV, let alone in a 30 second commercial ad. I cannot imagine an adult person feeling lead to put a cat in the dryer because an energizer commercial showed thus.

Well, she didn't say kids. And I'd have a hard time believing a kid would do that, either. Any kid who would follow a commercial like that probably has done countless other cruel, inhumane, careless, etc., things to their pets or someone else's pets. I don't think that commercial is going to make a difference with good or bad kids.

I did mean children, but some adults are even mean enough to put a cat in the dryer.

A kid died recently in my town from suffocation from being in a dryer...and yes some people may be stupid and mean enough to do weird things to animals...remember when that whole thing about the cat and the firecrackers and Beavis and Butthead was goin down? Those kids did what they saw on tv. Wow...that was sooo long ago.

Because I was born in the South, I'm a Southerner. If I had been born in the North, the West or the Central Plains, I would be just a human being.

Long enough ago that I can't remember it.

I will try to find a link...but most kids and people know better than to do that kind of thing. Only disturbed people would really do that stuff.

My best friend lost a kitten because her, at the time, 16 year old brother thought it would be funny to put the cat int he dryer. He wasn't attempting to kill it, but when his mom put clothes in the dryer and turned it on, he was trapped. Kids may do it without the malicious intent.
