My cat is old....and poops on my toilet

So my cat who you can see drinking out of my toilet in my avatar is pretty old, about 19. Indoor/Outdoor

Anyway he started pooping on the floor of my bathroom and spraying or maybe just peeing on my toilet. I took him to the vet today and am waiting on some tests that they did but I had some questions for you guys that I thought you might be able to answer.

First off when I went to clean up his poop from the morning after I came home from work, I bleached the area and it started to foam up and then it got hot, through 3 paper towels which I thought was odd I don't know why that happend maybe you guys do.

Then after he came home from the vet today they gave him some fluids which they said he needed because he was dehydrated, probably from the diarhea. However his left paw is enormous and they said it would go down but I don't know if I should do anything about it so if you guys know anything about that much appreciated. It's squishy to the touch and he doesn't seem to like to walk on it but he's sleeping on it now.

And lastly my sister has a little 10 month old female kitten that likes to bother him all time and run away from people, or be chased I haven't figured that out yet, anyway today after he came home from the vet she was very docile and let anyone pet her and she didn't seem to want to play much but she did follow him around the house a lot.

So yeah if you guys know anything about that stuff I would really appreciate an explanation

his paw is probably sore from them taking blood,

It sounds like the bleech had some kind of chemical reaction (sorry thats about all i know )

the kitten probably knew he wasn't feeling well, and smelled weird so she didn't try to play as much.

I think that kitten is agitating that poor cat 19yr old cat..preventing him from going to the bathroom in his usual place...so his is stressed and resorted to the current location...its not that good to have a kitten bothering and pouncing on such an older animal..it stresses them so badly...maybe the kitten should be kept away if thats possible

My guess is that the bleach had a chemical reaction with the ammonia in your cat's urine. When you clean animal waste you should look for products that won't cause chemical reactions. They're typically labeled "pet odor control" or something.
