Okay, so I know I'm probably gonna get blasted for this....

But I need some prayers for my kitties because....

:::GULP:::

They're getting de-clawed tomorrow. CJ has problems with her claws, and the vet thinks it's best. Annie with her mental problems gets caught on everything. No telling how long she was there a couple of times. Billy hurts Annie when he plays with her. And on top of it all, we're remodeling my house, and my parents say de-claw or they're OUT. I talked to my vet, and because of their problems, especially CJ's, she thinks it's best.

Anyway, I digress. Could I please get some prayers for my babies, because I'm really nervous about it tomorrow. I know they'll be fine (I used to be a vet tech... performed this quite a few times), but I'm still nervous.

Thanks all!

Cassie

I just saw this today. How did they do?
Don't feel badly about having it done. I understand what you mean about Annie getting stuck. I cannot tell you how many times we had to unstick a cat from the rug. I always worried that they would actually rip thier claw out. It's terrible and they get so scared which then scares you and makes everything worse!
I had my kitties declawed. I was moving in with my husband and was pretty much in the same situation. He wanted them declawed. The vet had told me that it was better than taking them to the pound or putting them down. They were the first cats I ever had declawed. I did feel terrible about the entire thing. I am not sure I would do this again. But to be honest the cats didn't seem to care. And now that they are keeping company with my bunny at least I don't have to worry about them hurting her.

Hmmmmm... I posted a reply, but I guess it didn't go through.
I just got the kitties today. They are all doing fine.

Billy says, "I didn't like that!"

CJ says, "I WILL have my REVENGE!!!"

And Annies says, "Hi!"

They are all doing well. This morning, CJ was so mad at me that she kept growling when I tried to pet her, but she's cooled off now.

Anyway, I'll update you as they progress!

Thank-you for all your kindess, thoughts, and prayers!

Glad to hear everything went well! Hopefully they got some good pain meds. Drunk kitties are usually a bit grouchy, but they'll come around just fine.

I have a question - did they send you home with any type of antibiotic? My two were not sent home with anything from the vets office. I had taken them (i don't remember why) to a different vet than my normal one. Neither got an infection from the claws but Tyler came home with kennel cough. When I called my normal vet to get him something he said to me that whatever they sent him home with should clear it up. He seemed surpised (but would not admit it) that they were not sent home with anything. Other kitties I know were sent home with pain meds (mine poor kitties were not) but I don't think I ever heard of them being sent home on antibiotics - just wondering.

Yep, they were sent home with pain meds and antibiotics.

They are all doing well. They're acting better, and are now pleasant.

I knew it! I should have never brought them there! Oh well I no longer go to that vets office. Between my regular vet and Tabatha's vet I have everything covered.
I feel badly though.

I am glad your babies are doing well. They were probably upset you left them there not really about what happened.
