Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Did your mom pick him up today? I hope everything is ok with him.

I'm very sorry. I will be thinking of your family and your kitty.

I have just had a liver scare with my cat. He stopped eating for almost two weeks. As you may or may not know, cats can only go for about 24-48 hours without food before it affects their liver. So, we were forcefeeding him and trying very hard to make him eat. He is finally eating on his own in the last few days.

What do you think caused the liver damage? How high were his values? (Normal ALT is usually around 150, ALP is usually around 65)

Good luck with everything. It is always so scary when something like this happens. I hope all is well and your kitty gets better soon.

Is it liver failure, or liver disease? There is a difference (althought the terms are often used synonymously) and they require different treatments. If it is liver disease, I can offer what I know about this condition. As I said, we had a scare with my kitty just recently. Everything is very fresh in my memory. If it's liver failure, I can't help much.

So he doesn't have liver failure? What did the vet attribute the problem to?
