Questions

My friend Irene always comes to me to ask about her cats and this time it was that for about 2 weeks her 11 year old tortie hasnt been eating. Now, Irene has mental health issues and about 2 weeks ago she nearly killed herself but signed herself in to the Waterford stayed there for a week and then signed out. Now she's doing better but would this have caused the cat to react this way? Also, The cat used to eat everything from lollipops to tuna to chocoloate pudding (her fave treat) but she wont touch anything! I told Irene maybe it was her kidneys?? The cat's only half of its normal lifespan so its not old. Oh, one other symptom is that the cat used to be very vocal and would talk back at you when you talked to her but now she wont make a peep. Irene is concerned but was wondering what it might be before briging her to the vet.
Is Critical Care for Carnivores any good?

Any change in a cat's behaviour or eating habits could mean an illness.

Chocolate pudding? Really? Ummm...okay,that could be the reason something is going on with the cat.Not good.Maybe tell her to talk to a vet!

Im guessing its an outdoor cat? I have never known an indoor cat to eat anything other than its own food. I would take it to the vet, im taking a guess that theres an internal blockage, also, check the teeth over.

I told her about what I connjured up online which was indicative of tooth problems or heart problems but I was talking to her answering machine so I dont know what she thinks of it. I told her to go to the vet more than once, she's like my mom wants to cure everything instead of the vet. But Ill see and no the cat lives indoors.
Sheesh, really? Illusion eats everything and he lives inside!! He loves yogurt, peanut btter, crumbs, random things. Yes, Illusion is a food monster!!

My girls don't eat everything and are indoor kitties...

What if the cat does have heart or tooth or some other issues?
And she won't bring it to the vet? You should! But make sure the bill goes to her.

No I guess she will take her to the vet when she knows the severity of the illness. I will stress to her next time I talks to her.
