You made such a sweet memorial for the kitty! Did the owner have an excuse for not contacting you? If it was my kitty i would be calling every 5 minutes!

She paid for it all in full...so I'm sure we will hear from her soon. Her cell phone is weird and unless you have some kind of pin number, it won't let your call go through to it. Same thing with her home number, that's why it was so hard to reach her to let her know he had died. I'm sure she'll give us a call soon to see when his remains would be coming back. Until then, they are at the clinic waiting for her.

How Frustrating...and Sad for All

Another reason why rescuers/shelters/humane societies, etc., preach keeping cats in-doors....

Can you call her from another phone so the number to the clinic doesn't show up? Or call information and get a good address and send someone over there? It seems as tho the police would at least find her and warn them about the possibility of rabies.

There is a three year protocol for rabies vaccinations in Florida. Maybe you will get lucky and it will be something else. Panleukopenia (feline distemper) can also affect cats neurologically, as can head injuries, stoke, brain infections, etc.

How frustrating and sad for everyone.
