SO mad at my aunt

and my only aunt. she had a cat for 12 years named rufus, and she told me she had him put down becuase she couldn't handle his meowing anymore. like.....are you kidding me. you get a cat and you don't expect it to meow? gimme a break. im so mad at her, and i don't get mad often, but im so disappointed at her lack of responsibility and commitment to him. she actually told me she didn't find him a home becuase she figured no one would want him. like really, no exucses.....im so disappointed.

Jeez thats horrible a lot of people love cats who talk a lot. She could have giving him to a shelter and he would have found a home in no time. I'm sorry she did that.

Wow if a cat meowing too much was a reason to put them down then Milo woulda been put down 2 years ago when he started peeing on my friends rug constantly! lol That and he meows at me starting about 4 am if he thinks he needs treats, food, water, etc (food and water are full...just not as full as he would like)
I really hate him sometimes, but I would never put him down unless he was really sick.

Aww that's sad, I think it's kind of weird that she delt with it for that long then decided she couldn't take it anymore. Poor kitty, I'm sorry.

I like vocal cats to a point....but not when i'm sleeping. Milo did it again this morning....wanted treats. GRRRR

Did your aunts cat just become vocal, or was it like that it's whole life? it's like Dragonrain said...if she dealt with it for 12 years...why now? And what vet would put down a perfectly healthy animal for a stupid reason like that?

yeah he's been like that since post-kittenhood. he did do it in the night, and day, and while on the phone, but all she EVER did was feed him to shut him up. she never tried playing with him or giving him attention. *sigh*

I agree with everyone. Xena is VERY vocal when she wants something, or just wants attention and I love it. It can get annoying but I would NEVER put her down because of it. She's just stating her opinion of things.

Kramer talks all the time, when he wants wet food, if he is trying to find me, when he wants loving, he even announces himself when he enters the room, I find it very cute. yes it gets annoying sometimes but i would never put him down for that reason.

Poor kitty! I complain a lot because Loki has gotten loud and belligerent in his old age, but I'd never put him down because he bugged me! He's my baby!
