Stray cat in Houston

My wife and I recently discovered that we have a stray cat which recently had a litter of 5 kittens living under our front porch.

Honestly, if we were able to afford it, my wife would take them in a heartbeat. But we are both jobless and already have 3 cats and a dog.

The stray appears to be very people friendly. Any time we go out our front door she darts to us, starts purring and meowing. Even when our dog barks she doesn't seem intimidated. (Our pets are strictly indoor, except the dog who goes in the backyard to do his business.) So I believe she's already been someone's pet at some time and would have no trouble being adopted.

So what's best for us to do? Take her to CAP or SPCA? Or just look for places that do the cheap spay and leave her as a stray? It seems like the last time we took a stray to CAP they charged us for doing so, I could be wrong about that.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

Look for a no-kill shelter in your area would be my first choice. Or maybe find a neighbor or family member that could watch over them good luck!

Another thing you could try is posting to craigslist to see if anyone is able to take them in . Good luck!

You can take some pics of them and tell your friends and relatives about them.
