Bald Eagles

Here's some bald eagles mateing near my house. I thought it was pretty cool but sad. The place where I live has turned into a subdivision and tearing down all the trees. I wish I could stop them but I can't. I am trying to move. I don't think these birds will be here again. Unless some how it could be stopped.

What a wonderful experience - and what beautiful pictures! The eagles are so beautiful and majestic.

It saddens me too that so many wild animals are losing their homes in the name of progress. How progressive will we feel when our children/grandchildren/great grandchildren will only be able to experience the wonders of nature through pictures like these?

My only experience with an eagle in the wild was when I went to a car dealership to pick up my car. I had my camera in the car with me (luckily) and heard this funny chirping noise coming from the trees behind the parking lot. Love those zoom lenses! I looked at it was babies - Mama was coming in to feed them. I was more excited about that than about picking up my car.

Thanks so much for sharing these.

That's exactly what I was thinking just not in such a poetic manner.

they are so beautiful...where I live if a bald eagle nests in a tree it becomes protected and monitored big time...its against the law to disturb them in any way...they were going to build a sub division in the field scross from us...but it has one tree lol and bald eagles moved in so now there is a fence put up around the whole property and people monitoring it all the time...I will try to get pics if I can...I thought they were protected everywhere like they are here, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to disturb such amazing birds

Yknow. It's really really sad that it has to come to the point to where they're basically gone to become protected by the local authorities. We need more conservation areas around the US.

Those pictures are breathtaking. I don't believe I have ever seen a bald eagle in real life. I thought I did once but I'm not sure.

They were on an elementary's property inside of my subdivision. They were on the local news then that was it. I am trying to set up a petition but I don't know how to go about anything at the moment I am trying to earch online to see what I can do for these animals considering I know alot of people who would be willing to stand behind me on this but none of them will go out of their way to heklp me get all the facts on how to submit a petition and a oh man whats the word..I can't think of the word but it means to take a bill to the (I don't know) to try and get a law passed. Pllus I gotta find out if it takes any money to get my petition on the road. If anyone can help put me in the right direction I would appreachiate it so much. I don't want them to dissappear.
