Cool Breakfast of Champions

I went outside to put something in the mail box and this is the site (and smell) that greeted me. Of course I came running back into the house, calling for Bubba to come with me and bring the camera. I knew you guys would appreciate it! The remains are an armadillo; I took a picture of that too but wasn't sure you'd want to see that!!

Ew. They are fascinating though, aren't they ? And fearless, I dunno how many times I've had to slow my car down waiting for them to get outta the way.

One of the neighbors was nice enough to clean it up. Or actually scrape it up. I found one in the road dead once and was gonna just flip it over into the grass - didn't take me long to find out how heavy those suckers are!!

Now my neighbors are wanting copies of the pictures....I don't know who cleaned the mess up, but they were sure all in their houses while I was out taking pictures!

OMG how gross !
"gee honey, what would go well in that empty spot on the wall ?? OH I KNOW - how about a disgusting print of buzzards eating an armadillo's remains !"

I suppose hanging it in the kitchen would be a great dietary aid.

Ewwww!!!! Poor dillo!!!

Kenny hit a vulture on his motorcycle once. It was very disgusting...the thing was plastered all over his helmet & shoulder. I made him strip in the front yard & I sprayed his clothes & him down! That part was kinda funny! ( don't tell him I said that!)

Just how far did you make him strip down, Jodi?!?

I can't imagine what a foul (fowl?) mess that was - those birds stink anyway. And he could have been hurt. He was lucky all he had to go through was the humiliation of being a Chippendale in the front yard!

I suppose some people try to tame them and keep them as pet. Which is where the same old problem comes in - they are WILD ANIMALS and mother nature hasn't set them up to become pets!

They are odd looking. We've been here 6 years and this is the first time I've seen them so close to our house.
