Cool Hey Woodpecker People!!

We have a woodpecker who visits us just about every morning and pecks on the house at my bedroom. A few years ago we had a pileated woodpecker who lived in the trees but I haven't gotten a look at this little peckerwood yet.

Any tips on politely asking him to leave without offending? I don't want my house to have holes in it - and really don't want the alarm every morning.

Thanks!!

Maybe resurface your house with brick?

Just Kidding!

Just some time? We one had a few summers ago and he would tap, tap, TAP on one of our metal vents. Very annoying at 5 in the morning. He left in the fall. Maybe the metal wasn't very appealing after all!

That would drive you crazy. May answer some questions about you though!!

He only comes some days. Maybe we are on his route of houses that he visits. I'd like to get a look at him, but he is always gone by the time I get out there.

Try hanging a suet feeder. He will keep coming around but it will divert his attention away from your house.
