I'm Haveing a BIG problem with birds!

OK this is the second time and I'm getting so ticked!
Everytime I go to use my grill theres a bird nest in it!
Is theres anything I can do to keep them OUT!
I also am afraid that one of these days I'm gunna have the grill on and there gunna fly right in!!!

I actully took a picture too!

Block off the hole so they can't get in?

Check it every couple of days to see if it's working...

Wow, that's a huge birds nest!

My dad's grill looks similar to yours but he's never had that problem before. I think putting up bird houses might help, as well as getting a grill cover! I'm not sure where you can buy them, but they are like vinyl or something and last awhile, so you won't have to keep replacing it.

lol, WOW that's ahuuuuge nest!!! when your'e cooking thety won't tread near. a good idea (worked many times for me back home) is take a hanging plant basket, sans plant, and hang it near the bbq, put nest in it. they'll see it and not likely move it, but just continue on

Well the thing about a gill cover.... I would buy one but when we cook on the grill and get done its really late at night and we go to bed after we eat and I'm a very forgetful person and I'll never remember to put it back on. I think I'm just gunna get a bird house! 2 of them!

The thing is, bird houses only appeal to certain kinds of birds. You need to make sure that you get the kind of house that works for whatever is building in your grill.

Even still, you may be out of luck. Birds can be great creatures of habit, and once they start a nest site, if it fulfills all their needs, it's possible they'll keep coming back.

If you keep destroying the nest before the eggs are laid, or before they hatch, eventually the birds will assume it's just not a safe place to nest and then move on. However, as long as there is an opening that birds can get into, somebody is going to try to make a nest. Giving them alternatives really isn't going to be your answer. You need to solve the problem.

find some wire mesh and block the whole. so its safe to cook with it covered and they cant get in... or give up grilling and watch the birds lay eggs and have babies
