Warning - I am including some reptile photos as well. If you don't like reptiles, just skip over those, I'll post them last so you can see the others!

I work for a non-profit organization. We work in cooperation with the state, but not actually for the state.

What kind of work does your organization do? Environmental impact statements?

I'm also curious, is that a picture of the Interior Least Tern? It's a great picture.

My organization does a lot of work, it depends on which division you look at. A big part of our work is removal of invasive plant species, particularly Arundo donax but also tamarisk, castorbean, and others. We also monitor endangered species, whcih is then reported to the appropriate agencies. this monitoring helps track the progress of endangered species. If the species becomes more plentiful, we'll know the work done to help them is successful, and eventually they can be de-listed. But if the species continues to decline we know more research and effort needs to be put into helping them. Other parts of the agency monitor water quality and watershed health, which in turn helps people by allowing us to know when there's a health/environmental concern that needs to be addressed.

The tern is a California Least Tern. Same species but different subspecies.

Awsome photos. What state do you work in? My husband & I have been relocating wild prairie dogs from construction sites, places where they are being shot, posioned, etc. We are located in Amarillo, TX. If you work in TX. I would like to visit with you about adding you to my list of contacts, if you don't mind. My name is Deana & you can e-mail me @ [email protected].
