You have to be careful when a (normally) wild animal will get that close; sometimes it means that they are diseased and their brains aren't working right. That said, I'd have probably been looking everywhere for something to feed it!

OHHH, VRAT, I've known you long enough to know that you know that - I just want to make sure that everyone does!

Good point! It just seemed like you directed it at me.
I was a teenager at the time,so I didn't know as much as I do now.

It did look that way since I quoted you and I apologize for that. But I know that you're careful. (We saw an adult raccoon on Merritt Island a couple of years after moving to FL. After having been away from 'coons for so long we were more fascinated by it than we were the rocket towers, the ocean, etc., and were searching the car for something to feed it - knowing the whole time that was the wrong thing to do!)

I've been talking with some friends on a Cavalier board who are Canadians and saw a possum walking on the top of their fence. I warned them, too, about the possibility of problems when you see what is normally a nocturnal out during the day. Better be warned than sorry!

Have a great day VRat!!

Its definatly not reccomemded to feed wild animals by hand, if you have a feeder or something its no so bad but you still want the animals to know how to fend for themselves.
