Something lurking in my garden...

We started our spring yard clean up, and as I was picking up some dead twigs....

Something MOVED....

I was SCARED.....

Until I saw this sweet little face

We did more yard work for another 20 minutes or so, and s/he would turn (still behind the pots though) and watch us. After that I decided we'd better go inside, cuz I figured we were probably stressing her out. We went out a few hours later to put stuff back in the shed and bunny was not there.

We've had another bunny that's lived in the back yard since we've lived here...or I assume it's the same one. If not, several rabbits tend to run the same route. I wonder if it's the mama.

Super cute though!

Hard to tell from the photo, but my first thought was that it was a baby. Having seen it "out of hiding" you could tell more about its size.

If it is an adult, I would say that this one has a nest nearby. Wild rabbits spend the majority of their time away from the nest and usually are only seen on or near their nest around sundown.

They are pretty little critters, but treat her with lots of respect. Rabbits tend to stress very easily and it can kill them quickly.
