Question degu bedding

hi all i was hoping some one can advise me,
i usualy use saw dust for dagu's house but the delivery guy bought me straw flakes instead,so i'm wondering if this will be OK to use in his tank.or would it be too dusty.

Do you mean straw? As they can have straw yes. My only concern would be as a main substrate in a cage it being a little sharp on their feet but I think it is ok to use

it is straw but very fine as though its been put through a shredder.
i'm just worried it may be a bit dusty as he lives in a tank not a cage.

When you say saw dust do you mean saw dust or wood shavings? The reason i ask is i'm just trying to clarify which as if its saw dust then the straw will be less dusty in my opinion and better for your degu

Wood shavings are fine as is straw. I use a mixture of hay and straw for my boys nest boxes. I think i know the stuff you have received as it sounds like something i have brought before and if it is the same stuff its definately fine
