Degu chewing

My degus will not stop chewing on their cage. The both of them. Its driving me nuts! Can someone please help me explain why they could be doing this? I have two chew toys in their cage plus some wooden hut thing(not edible) and they dont touch the toys. This chewing is going on all day... and NIGHT!..

How large is the cage? How often do you let them out? What toys are they? Just wooden blocks?

Degus need a lot of stimulation and exercise, more than most other pet rodents. The fact that both are doing it tells me that this is a boredom issue (which could turn into habit if not corrected soon).
