Nail clipping is fairly simple if you are confident enough to do it on your own or you can take them to the vets where they will cut them for you for a small fee. The thing to remember is to stay calm and take your time and only take a little off at a time as you can always take more off at a later date and if you are going to do so i would also invest in some small animal claw clippers or baby nail clippers as they are the right size for the job. The link Steph has posted has some good advice in it and if you need anymore feel free to pm me

Its really easy believe me, usually all of my degu's keep their nails short by scrambling around or running on the wheels, but sometimes they get too long of nails. When they need a quick clip i just have my boyfreind restrain the degu and then take off little clips at a time. Ive never been bitten or quicked any of them, but i keep quik stop on hand just in case, good luck!!! I know how much damage long degu nails can to do a persons skin yeeeouch!!
