Anyone know how I can find out if they are lega? I can't seem to find anything online. They look so cute and they sound amazing...anyone care to describe how they are as pets, compared to mice and hamsters??

Thanks =)

I think i remember reading they are illegal in Alaska Have you checked with your local government office website (or something like that) as they should have a list of animals that are banned?

Yeah anything except Albinos are illegal. In my town, Anchorage, even white rats are illegal.

Ferrets are not illegal, where did you hear that??? It's only illegal to breed them.

I'm glad we don't have these kind of bans over here in the UK, we just have laws and licensing on certain types of animals (normally animals classed as dangerous and licensing for what we class as exotic such as certain types of monkey etc... and animals classed as wild animals) which i think is good as stops just anybody going out and buying or obtaining one.

I wonder what the reasoning behind that is...

Well their idiotic reasoning is that Albino rats have a harder time surviving in the wild and would be preyed upon much easier. Which is stupid...because rats are hardy as it is. Plus, ummm...snow is white?! And it's snowy here almost 5 months a year! If I wanted a pet rat though, I know a lady who breeds other colors....so it's not really a huge deal.
