Degus eating but losing weight

Hi
I have a degus boy,he is 4 years old.
About 5 weeks ago i notice that his teeth was to long so i took him to the vet,and she clipped his bottom teeth, then she noticed that his cheek teeth was to long.
So i got another apointmed whit another vetstation 2 weeks later, they cheched his helt and everything was fine,so i got an apointment 2 weeks later for anesthetic to fix his cheek teeth.
Under that time he begun to lose weight, but he is eating and drinking.
This thursdag he was to the vet and she was stunned that he had lost so much weight in so little time, they gave him anesthetic and did what they could whit his teeth, but he was so skinny so she didnt want do do to much:
He woke up serval hours later.
Now it seems that he has even MORE trouble whit his mouth,he is pawing andr drooling and chatter his teeth:
He is eating, although it takes time to shew just one bit,and he is drinking, and he had energy to climb and walk around in his cage, but he his so so skinny and still losing weight, and i dont know why:
What can i do? I feel so sorry for him :*(
I have a warm pillow that i put in the microwawe that he lays on often.

Please help:
The vet said that she couldent do more, but that i could make him eat so he gains weight, but he IS eating, but is still losing weight

(sorry for my english)

What is he eating? I would try Critical Care, it's by Oxbow and sold at many vets and the occasional pet store. You can feed it via syringe and it's made to help animals gain weight and recover from illness.

Hi
thanks for your answer!
He is eating his food, and at the vet,she said to feed him whatever he want no matter what it is,so he is eating sunroseseeds, oats, and nuts, but he is not gaining weight,i have tried critical care, but he hates it,and i cant get it in to him
The vet said that he could have problem to take up nutrission,i dont know why though
it feels so horroble to se him so skinny,he is drinking and eating but he is not getting better

My heart goes out to you.

You are doing all you can. I hope he will begin to gain weight again.
