First timer

hi i am a first time degu owner, 2 days ago i acquired 2 male (we are told) degus. i understand all small animals need time to adjust to new homes etc. 1 of them is lively always exploring and happy, the other spends most of his time hidden or just staring into space. he comes and plays for a short period of time every few hours or so but always goes back to hiding and staring. i got these 2 cos they were the 2 most inquisitive and playful in the shop so this behavious surprises me. do you think its just down to new home or that something is wrong with him? seems weird that hes so different from the other 1 and different from how he was in the shop. is this sort of behaviour common?

welcome to paw talk
like advised above, I wouldnt worry just yet it takes time for them to adjust to a new place.
