Mood swing?

Beebo was always friendly, always jumping up to see me when I called him, but now he jumps away, and he doesn't like to be picked up. He doesn't seem to act afraid in his cage, but he doesn't really like people anymore. This just suddenly happened yesterday. Could it just be a mood swing of some sort?

He doesn't even respond to my voice anymore....
I just cleaned their cage yesterday, and I noticed a bit after I cleaned it.
Like, a few hours and into the afternoon. What could've happened?

Oh would you look at that. A few treats, a new dust bath, and they're getting more and more friendly. Haha. Should've known.

Maybe he was having a bad day.One of my old rats, Saukrates, got like that once and I thought he was getting aggressive as some male rats get behavioural problems if they produce too much testostarone.Sweet Saukrates suddenly became very moody, irritable, not responding to me and nipped me.I called the vet to ask about neutering and then the next day he was back to his old self.He was very sweet from then on up until he passed away.Animals have bad days just as we do.

I am glad your little degu is back to being friendly with you!!

It worried me because it made me wonder a great many things. For instance, it made me wonder if he had gotten sick, or in a fight with his brother, or if someone else had spooked him. But with a little attention, he was back to his old sweet self and is again today. ^^ Thank you for reassuring me.
