Talking omg!! Its a friend for my baby!!!!!!!!!!

yesterday we got a free degu from a girl in calgary. We named him lemmie-winks! The first day we showed them to each other they hated each other !! but now.. they are bff 's !! so... i was worndering... they ARE both boys but.. what does it mean when my older degu fuzzy, the one i have had for a while is uh.. on top of him???? i king of need to know thanks!!

Mounting is how they esstablish dominance over one another, many animals do it.
I'm not sure about Degu's but gerbils do this to mark the other gerbils with it's scent.

Yep, it's a dominance thing. Your one degu is trying to tell the other one that he is in charge.

Degus mount other degus as a sign of dominance and they also do it for just doing its sake aswell

If they are living together after such a short period i would keep a close eye on them for the first few days just incase as degus can turn pretty quickly especially on degus they don't know all that well and for a start both need to find out who is in charge so i would keep an eye on them to make sure no fights break out just for the first few days. You can expect squabbles though all degus squabble, over thin air sometimes
