Pics of Cages Requested

We are looking to build a new cage for our degus soon but are looking for some ideas. I've read up on them briefly and looking around for other pics which have been helpful. Not sure whether we would prefer to have a glass bottom (fish tank) with cage on the top half. We currently have a huge rat cage for them, that use to have 3 levels, we have since removed the levels and have 1x4 wood slates in various different areas for them to jump to and from. Currently there is a pull out metal bottom for cleaning. Just wondering what some of your setups are. We would like to quiet the cage down a bit, so are looking for suggestions. Right now when they run in their wheel or jump around it makes a **** of a racket.....looking for more stability I would guess. And does anyone have them mounted on walls? I've seen this before, just wondering the specifics behind that. Don't know if I really want them down on the floor. Thanks again!

ive just got a new tank (my dad built it) it is actually made from wood and has glass sliding doors at the front. with an air space up the top so they dont suffercate! all the joints are covered with aluminum on the outside so they wont be able to chew through it. it has two shelves which i can take out to clean, and is 4' x 2' x 2'. they love it. i will post a pic when i take one!

I have a 4 tier chinchilla cage for my degu's and i have some of the shelves especially where the wheel is carpeted to stop the noise of the wheel vibrating on the metal bars, plus in the sleeping area its nice for them to lay on to stop them getting bumble foot. I will take a picture if i get chance later!

I've only had my degus for a few weeks so I haven't gotten around to making them a cool home - they're still in the rabbit hutch I adopted them in (though I did get them a wheel and some toys, poor little guys). I'm hoping to make them a really stellar setup soon. The coolest degu homes I've seen are at
