Question Fatty

I have this gerbil, Mige, and she is really fat. I got her from a pet store where they fed their gerbils those brown nuggets things, and I guess she was overwhelmed by my mix of food so I'm guessing she gores herself. Her two cagemates Ville, sister, and Vanilla, another pet shop rescue aren't fat at all so I'm afraid to give them less food. I've already taken out all of the sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Mige gets a lot of excersise from running around on my bed everyday. What can I do to get her to loose weight?

perhaps switch back to those "nugget" lab block things.
seeds in most mixes are very fatening, so that may be an issue too. does she have a wheel to run on? that would help out

She doesn't have one yet, I haven't had time to run to PetSmart since it's the end of the school year and there are projects and such. I was going to go after school tomorrow. Thanks for replying.

Some gerbils are just larger then others. I have some 'skiny" gerbils and some larger gerbils who may 'look' fat but they aren't it's just their breeding.
If she is active and healthy i wouldn't be to wrorried.

I think there is a fat gene in some rodents too, so maybe she is just fat and has that gene???
