Hamster blood/pus eyes

Hello,

My hamster seems to have dried blood/pus around his eyes...I am taking him to a vet but am wondering if this is serious? I have read a few articles that it can sometimes just be when they are uncomfortable or their eyes get dry. His eye has gotten pus in it before but it has never looked like blood. I used a q-tip and cleaned around his eye and opened it up. He appears to be in no pain, even when i am cleaning his eye. Should i take him to the vet or continue the process of cleaning around his eye and chalk it up to he was a bit uncomfortable?

The only guess i have is i left him overnight alone (simply overfed him and made extra water available). Could this have caused the uncomfortableness?

any help is greatly appreciated, I am worried sick.

What are you feeding him on? Is it possible he has some sort of allergy to it? What type of bedding is he using?

Take him to the vet. He could have an infection.

An allergy wouldn't cause blood seeping from the eyes, go to the vet.
