Homemade Toy Suggestions!

I am redoing my three hamster cages on Friday, and I want to make some homemade toys for them to spark their interest and change things up a bit!! I have tons of cardboard toilet paper rolls, tissue boxes (the square ones), and various boxes. I'd like to make mazes and such. Unfortunately, I am NOT creative!!! I have googles homemade toys, but the results were pretty vague!! Does anyone have suggestions, or links I can get ideas from? Thanks so much!!!

Mandy

hmm, my suggestion -
get a bigger cardboard box . tape the toilet paper tubes together in like a maze so it has a couple endings. At all of the endings, except for one, put the tissue boxs. So they have to go back . Put a treat at the end with no tissue box and keep switching up which one has the treat so it doesnt get easy for your gerbils. But make sure you watch them when they are in it, because the love to chew cardboard. You will probably have to replace the toilet paper tubes and stuff alot . I hope this helped !
