How do you encourage hamsters to use the bed you buy for them?

i bought this round hamster/girbil nest made of wicker basket type material and its got all sorts of holes on it for them to go into and its loosely filled with hay. My hamsters wont go in it, they've climbed on once or twice but they mostly sleep in the tubes that are attatched to the cage.

Any suggestions?

just accept it. Same thing with cats when they prefer the box the cat tree came in.

Give them a box?

Try putting some treats in it, or fluffing for them to nest in. Theres not really a way to make them like it though. One day, theyll probably just randomly decide to sleep in it LOL... Thats just what silly hammies do!

In a world older than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethen, they are not underlings; they are other nations caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth."

Aww yes, Hammies are among the stubbornest of pets!!! Love mine dearly though!! Just like cats, if they know you really want them to do something, they will absolutely not do it, just for spite!!! Like Jess said, one day they will probably just start sleeping in it!! I buy Kleenex Ultra Soft with NO lotion for my hams bedding and they love it!!

u cant really make them use it, i used to use bed but my hampster would rip it up and never use it so if it doesn't accept it in about say 1-2 weeks then it doesn't like it and won't use it
