Unhappy im worried about nikki

she has a litlle exstensenshon bit on her cage and every now shes gose in there and dise this jumping thing with her legs ... she gose on her 2 front lefts and her back legs bouncers make a little bang soung...my mum thought it was her breathing but it was just her legs and she only dose it in there .. she a gerbil

If she is thumping her back legs it's a warning signal. It's perfectly normal, she's just warning any other gerbils that there's possible danger approaching.

If gerbils are in danger they'll thump their hind feet to let them know to back off and also to warn other gerbils. If your degu's are in the same room and your gerbil is aware then there is a high chance that's why she is doing it. It's nothing health related, just a little gerbil instinct!
