I personally wouldn't use scented bedding for small animals. It's a nice fragrance occasionally, but it's a whole other ballgame when it's an inch away from your nose, 24/7.

This.

I know a few people who use the lavender scented bedding and really like it. IMO the scent was WAY too strong and my rats would always try to eat the lavender. I know lavender isn't bad for them but IMO it smells way too strong. Also if it's the bedding that is like the little balls, it is very dusty.

Be careful with this scented stuff, I had this and my russian dwarf hammy got cancer so just be careful. I changed the bedding ASAP with new hammies and no cancer, strange that!!!!

At least one study, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, linked lavender with estrogenic (estrogen-like) and antiandrogenic (testosterone-blocking) effects.

I don't think I'd want to expose a small rodent to high levels of it, ...or ANY levels for that matter.
