My little biting gerbil

my gerbil cornflake was so sweet when i got her and now she has two babies and she loves them and hates me?

i was putting in a tube for her to chew and she loved it but she got all agressive with it and dragged it round the cage and the babies where getting in the way so i took it off her and she bit me and my finger was bleeding! i dont know wat getting into her she so agressive with everything thing she sees(except the babies she love them to bits) so i let her calm down and after i got her out so i can pet her and i picked her up and she bite my thumb and guess what my thumb was bleeding.

i dont know what to do with her, shes just so agressive with everything in her cage she chucks it around draggs it or demolishes it im surprised there is a cage left!

please help me!

A gerbil that has kids is in motherhood mode. :C
Its more than linely shell continue to bite and be very cage aggressive when her pups are around/still with her.

Its her natural instincts to be protective.
As soon as they are ready to weaned I would remove them shortly after.
Until then I would leave her alone or maybe take her out with gloves.

More near the time of pups weaning i would try holding her and playing with her in small intervals and eventually as the pups are fully weaned you can go back to the way you were with her.

She's being a protective mother and I think she was taking the tube and moving it somewhere to make a litte spot for her babies. It's best to let them move stuff around in there cage the way they like it.
