I have two gerbils. Lizzy beth and Dora Diamond. They are 2 and a half years old. They were born in my home when I use to breed gerbils. Lizzy Beth is all black, and Dora Diamond is mottled black and white.
Arabella is my newest addition. I brought her home December 23rd. A few days later she came down with wet tail. From my experience I knew wettail to be very deadly. I haven't been able to get her to the vet yet, because I had to pay rent and other important bills. The petstore told me to buy the dri tail stuff, but from my experience i know this stuff is not strong enough to fight the disease. But I have lucked out, I have been giving her more than the recommened dosage, because I have been putting it in her water bottle, and I figured she wasn't drinking much water and she would not get the full dosage. I have been also been giving her a mixture of childrens non flavored pedialite. For 3 days now the wettail has cleared up, but I am still medicating her, I plan to medicate her for about another week or so, and I will get her to the vet next payday when my bills are caught up. But for now I am so happy and blessed that she is doing better.
