Question Are Teddy Bear hamsters more relaxed?

once i picked up a teddy bear hamster from a pet shop and the teddy bear hamster would just sit in my hand, but when i picked up another hamster, like a dwarf, those hamsters were more active?

are teddy bears really more relaxed than other hamsters?

'Teddy Bear' hamsters are really just long-haired Syrians .

But in general, Syrians are calmer then Dwarf hamsters. However, both kinds have the potential to be friendly and tame .

Agrees with Sesami...however I was the unfortunate one to have a very moody and saucy teddy bear...mine would lunge at the bars and bite and could not be held...

I have 2 syrians right now. Arabella, is really tame now and lets me pick her up, but this is after working with her for a few months. And Piper, I can only hold her for about a minute then she squirms and jumps out of my hand, and she escaped last week, and believe me she was very fast running behind my refrigerator, it took us awhile to catch her.

I have had a couple of syrians before that were really tame from the very start, but others you have to earn there trust and work with them before they are more relaxed. It depends on there personality, and how much they were handled with humans before too.
