We have a total of 4 piggies 2 males 2 females in different cages of course. I am not sure what kind either--they all have smooth short hair. Their names are Berrys and Sweetheart (the girls) and Max and Buddy. I will post pics soon hopefully.

I have 2....well, technically I have 1 and the other is my nephew's pig. His mom got it for him when he was like 3 and of course he got bored with it real quick (within a couple months) and his mom didn't take great care of it...so she's been living with me ever since.

They are both female, Oreo and Quizzy (aka big pig and little pig) not sure of the breed but they both have smooth coats. Oreo is approximately 6-7 years old now and she's not doing so great. She's lost some weight and I took her to the vet on Saturday. The vet said it's just old age and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Her teeth and everything else checked out fine. I'm doing everything I can to keep her comfortable but if she goes downhill anymore then I think I'll be taking her in to the vet to say goodbye. I don't want her to suffer. Quizzy is about 5-6 years old now and is still fit and full of spunk.

If I had the money, I definitely would look into getting one. Maybe some time in the near future.

hehe...im just playing! Well, when your ready for one in the future try checking out the shelters to adopt one. Also this gives you plenty of time to do research before actually getting one. This way you can be a super piggie mama!

I've actually been doing a lot of research on piggies. The shelters in my town normally don't get anything other then dogs and cats though but maybe someone could help me find a GP rescue close to here?

Ohio Cavies Rescue and Adoption

Capital Area Humane Society

These are the two that I found. If you go on Petfinder just click on breed list and then on small and furry. Good Luck!! Piggies are so sweet

make sure you call and ask your shelter often, the piggies go fast and many dont list them on petfinder because of that

Oh and it can be quite cheap to adopt mine came with cage food waterbottle and food bowl.. not the greatest of any but it works until i can afford to get a new one

I called our local shelter and from what they said they only take cats and dogs. There goes that Idea..
