festively plump gunieapig

help just got my guniea pig out cage and he appears to have doubled in weight not kidding , my boyfriends been feeding him the past week and swears he fed him the amount i generally do but hes huge, he has chin rolls that cant be good!! i dont want to send my porky piggie into shock by reducing food to much as h appears to eat it all ,ive recently changed food brands does anyone know if that could affect my piggies weight, thanks

I don't know very much about piggies, but if this new food has a high crude fat level, then, yes, this can be the reason.

What brand did you switch to? Yes, it could have caused the weight gain. Also, maybe you're supposed to feed less of the new food?

Just slowly reduce the pellets and feed more veggies. Make sure he gets plenty of exercise, too, though I realize guinea pigs aren't the most active of animals .

He should always have unlimited hay (just no alfalfa unless he's very young) but you should know that already .

thank's yeah deffinatley try to help my plump piggies , jeff n sweetpig are increadably lazy unless its to do with food,lol il check packaging!!
