Friend For Apolla?

I was just offered a female GP about 11/2 yrs old.Now I do want Apolla to have a friend and I do understand that a second GP means MORE food and extra poop (Apolla eats a good amount of veggies and hay and poops alot),but I want Apolla to have a buddy, especially since she did have a cagemate in the past and they are social. And I am prepared for a second.

Now IF I do take in this GP,after quaratine...how do I go about introducing the two? Is it the same as introducing rats?

I found a breeder here! YAY!! I didn't know there were GP breeders in Newfoundland.Anyway she has a couple of litters due in February! She is gonna keep in touch and I will be going to see them soon!

I am really excited now! Apolla will get a friend afterall...it may be a couple months, but she will at least get a buddy.

Hey!

To answer your question, after the quarintene period, introduce them in a neutral area of your home (an area that niether pig has been introduced to)... this will eliminate any dominance barrier!
