my chewing pigges....

well i made a nice cage, wooden polyeurthane floors, something that i intended for my rats...well in the end i decided to give it to my piggies and i have noticed that they test bite the sied here and there although i have not seen any damage...i think i will make them another cage with cloroplast floors and some beding in them...hopefully this will work better, what do you guys think? how badly do they norm chew wood...my rats/mice/hamsters are not prolific wood chewers so this will be a first

they dont chew as much as rabbits but guinea pigs, yes , they do chew.
A cage made from coroplast or insulfoam like i mentioned in a thread will be much better.
a guinea pig cage that has wood floors is going to get chewed on and peed on badly.

Look at how i made my piggies new enclosure using insulfoam cuz i couldnt find coroplast...

all animals chew i know that. but i have no idea how much a gp chews. my degus chew a LOT and they're still not gotten out of their wood framed cage that i made even if they do start to chew a spot, i extended caging down far enough along the wood. or if your gp is litter trained, throw carpet squares or pieces you cut, on the wood floor where the chewing concern is. also I find, the best trick to avert bad chewing, is to just supply the heck outta them with other things to gnaw and chew on
