Aww she looks so excited. I agree with carpeting the ramp, that should work well. Good luck! She is a beautiful GP btw

i was thinking of getting a litter pan..or more than one, can you train them to at least poop in a certain place...or corner with a litter pan?..if so, whats the best way to approach it and any pans that you guys use?

the wood has been polyeurathaned with like 7-8coats i lost track, althought i didnt need that many i like the color and texture it takes on and so th urine shouldnt ruin the wood or stain in..also i have just noticed her urine is whitish/yellow...like a hamsters..is that the norm?

..piggie can be difficult to train to poop and pee in a pan...

if they can be trained they will pee in the litter boxes but cavies no matter how litter trained they are I believe will still leave poos all over the place. They may pee in the litter pan but poo where ever she happens to be. But at least that would be half the battle

Thats good about the wood, that its coated but she may still slip on her urine....it needs to have something to absorb it up to be safe and so that it doesnt get soaked up on her fur.
Does she lick the wood?

Hopefully she will take to litter pan training. Watch where she urinates and poops the most and put the litter box in the corner that is most usesd. See how that goes. I think the younger they are the easier it would be to train them to use it.

Good luck with litter training, most pigs won't use the litterbox exclusively, though.

its when the piggies jump wildly about like little broncos...like popcorn looks when its popping in the pan!
Its the most adorable thing!
It means they are very happy and excited!!!
Happens alot in first thing in the mornings when they are happy to see you and when they hear you getting their food ..opening the fridge for veggies and just when they are very very happy!

ace looking cage, carpet is a good idea for the ramp, or maybe a wooden ramp with rigs on for the GP to grip on to?, just an idea
