...yes they will chew everything...especially wood. Its actually something they need to do to keep their teeth at a healthy length. Their teeth keep growing so they need things to knaw on.

I wouldn't say that pigs are as bad as, say, rabbits when it came to chewing, but they'll definitely nibble on things to varying degrees. My boy cage won't even chew cardboard, while the neuter cage constantly is trying to eat all their pigloos.

i have rats and they will not chew my wood in the cage, they would perfer softer woods, and as long as they are not as bad as degus my wooden floors will be fine, but i doubt the carpet will

That's true. The bigger problem is going to be keeping the wood clean since they're basically "go where they stand" animals.

it actually hasnt been that bad, i wipe it down every morning and the major bathroom times occur on the lowest floor where there is bedding

looks like a great cage, but i worry about the carpet.. i don't know anything about piggies, but my rabbit loves to try and eat carpet.. on the cavey cages site, alot of people use fleece material for bedding and stuff.. might be worth considering..
