I'm afraid that's just how guinea pigs are . Some guinea pigs can be litter-trained but even they still tend to leave droppings around.

If you try to litter-train, use a paper-used litter like Yesterday's News or Carefresh. Cat litter is usually clay-based and dangerous for guinea pigs. Place the litterbox where your guinea pig tends to pee and also put some hay in there.

Good luck but keep in mind that most can't be litter-trained.

Exactly. If you use cat litter, tehy're likely to eat it, and it will expand in their stomach, :/

Indeed you would! Would not be a pleasant experience. Kudos for having the brilliance to ask, though,

As Sasami said, put the litter box where your guinea pig normally goes to the bathroom. There's one member on here that had good success with training their guinea pig/pigs(?) can't remember who, though.....

I haven't tried litter-training my guinea pig, she poops and pees EVERYWHERE. Where she sleeps, where she eats, where her water bottle is....Some guinea pigs, I've heard, choose a corner to their cage. Mine never did.

Same here. I have a corner pan in both the boys and girls cages. They ushally poop and pee around were their water is and were I place there hay. I have tryed shreded paper and corncob bedding in the corner boxes and they leave it alone and ocasinaly use it. My old pig used it but when he got his buddy it was poop every were again.
The only thing I can say is keep trying and maybe you will have some luke I am. I fully clean out their cage and change the litter every day I dont put a lot in enough to cover the bottom some and then change it each morning althought he babies right now this its a bed. LOL
I have not given up and its going slow and its even slower when you have new babies that go all over becuase then the mom thinks she can to. lol Also training one pig at a time is eaer then 3 or 4. lol

You are the weirdest cat I ever seen.
Now matter how big or small wierd or normal we or animals may be we can learn to love and get along and love is what makes it all worth wild. Becuase Beautie is in the eye of the beholder an no one is ugly or more prettyer then anything eals we are all equal. There are some ugly people and things but that is becuase man kind makes them this way do to thier actions.

Be very very careful with corn cob bedding, it's extremely easy to mold and very dangerous for them to ingest.

This is true.I hate the stuff.I had a rat die after eating it,plus it molds super easy and smells bad.I will never ever use that stuff again for ANY animal.
