Unhappy New cavies seem to have forgotten me overnight

I brought home two adult guinea pigs from a local Petco about a week ago. I've been feeding them regularly and spending a lot of time near their cage talking to them, so they had been warming up to me. However, when I fed them this morning, they were acting very skittish towards me, similar to how they had acted when I first got them. Is this normal? Are they just in a bad mood, or did I do something to scare them off? They were acting normal last night...

Guinea pigs are prey animals. It's normal for them to randomly have a freak-out if they sense something off. How's your mood? Animals can sense emotional changes in their humans, and other animals around them. If you've been angry today, or perhaps a little bit upset, they could be sensing that, and reacting to it.

I guess I've been fairly stressed out today. I'm just worried that they might be sick, since the change was so sudden. I suppose I'll leave them alone for today and see if they're any better tomorrow.

If you just got them a week ago, they are still getting used to their surrounding. While guinea pigs are in their cage, they tend to be pretty skittish too. Ive had one of my piggies 3 years, and she will still run and hide if you go by the cage to fast, or if you try to pick her up. Like FlickeringHope said, they are prey animals, and are alot more wary of everything than a dog or a cat would be, so Im sure you didnt do anything.

"For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethen, they are not underlings; they are other nations caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth."
