Question Question-Piggie bath

Just wondering how often you other guinea pig lvers bathe your piggie?
Do you use special shampoo just for piggies?
Does your piggie enjoy having a bath?

I think once every couple months? I jus give mine a bath when he needs one (cuz he has long hair and things get tangled)

They really shouldn't ever have to be bathed. Only if absolutly nessasary. They do a good job of cleaning themselves, just like cats.

You can use a mild rabbit shampoo or you can get small animal shampoo from some stores or your vet.

yeah i heard they keep themselves clean pretty good and to only do it every once in a great while, like once every 3 or 4 months. Mine has VERY long hair as you can see from her pics in other threads. We brush her but she gets tangles sometimes.
Thanks girls

You just have to be careful because their skin dries easily. With long haired pigs you can give them a "butt bath" to help with the stuck poos and stuff.

My boys only have a bath twice a year... if that. They start to look kind of 'greasy' before it's bath time. It's such a huge production and they really do hate it They might get an additional butt bath a couple of times a year as well.

Bailey not too happy with me after his first bath

That one pic of Hagrid makes him look like he really is enjoying his bath. His face looks so cute!

Here are my pigs being tortured with a bath.

We want out!
