Holy crap, thats what she was living in? I would get her out of there ASAP. Do you have a big rubbermaid tub or something she can stay in till you can make him a real cage? That bedding also is crap, very unhealthy.

Does he have any hay?

I am so sad for that poor girl. What a horrible life.

why do poeple think 10 gal tanks make good homes? my mom told me to put mine into a 10 gal too, (which was smaller than my old cage for mine) so he wouldnt kick poo out, and i was mad and she told me that my aunt used to have 2 in a 10 gal. it works fine (that was like 30 years ago..)

Hes really cute! whats his name?

We have a big rubber bin that I'm thinking about making into a temporary cage for him until I can get the money to make a C and C cage. It's huge so he'd have a lot more space. The woman said that she really didn't have a name for him so I've named him Twix! He's a big baby, she said he was skittish but honestly, he's a lot calmer then I expected. His nails were much worse then I thought, I didn't realize how bad they really were until I clipped them, most of them were dead and shriveling away. We have much better bedding and I will be getting him some hidy houses and such soon as well. One thing I was wondering is he knocks his food dish over and eats off the ground...does that mean he'd preffer to eat off the ground or should I get him a different dish?

He's a really quiet little guy for the most part but when you hold him he gives little squeeks (really quiet) and love nibbles...he also likes to give kisses. She said he is a little under a yr old. I just wish they would have had him in a better cage...
