Arrow Using Insulfoam as alternative...

I wasnt able to get the coroplast i wanted so i looked for alternative for making my piggies enclosure/cage larger. I looked at our local Lowes and found whats called Insulfoam.

Insulfoam Professionals - Insulfoam Professionals
Insulfoam Professionals - distributors / dealers

You can buy a large 8' x 4' sheet of it there for $8.00. I decided to try it cuz it looked like you can cut and score it and tape the ends together just like the coroplast to make a nice large enclosure.
It is a very large piece and didnt have room to make their cage that large so what i did was cut the 8' sheet in half, cut and scored both 4' pieces and put them together, sliding the second piece underneath the first piece and taping the two together. I added newspaper under the bedding and it is working quite nicely. Piggies it! Popcorning Galore!!
So their enclosure is now 5 1/2' x 3'.

Just thought i would share this info.

I tried to take some pictures but the batteries in my dig camera are dead. Will get some more later thhis afternoon and post them here.

Look here to see how to make a GP enclosure. About the bending and cutting part
How to Make a C&C Cage

About the lining..i roll up the newspaper to catch as much of the bedding and throw it away. Got that idea from Amber . Makes it a much easier clean up. The foam is waterproof and the newpaper and bedding do a good job of absorbing urine so the insulfoam only needs to be wiped down really good. No need throw it away.
