Oh, well that is why you will find more feed stores than NYC!

I'm in New York & can tell you I haven't been able to find Oxbow products anywhere except the vet's office (animal hospital). Mostly, I get the hay there & have to order the pellets. I have seen Mazuri - in one of the pet stores. I don't think it was petco, though.

I don't have guinea pigs...but I'm in New York and Oxbow products are indeed hard to find. Occasionally I see Oxbow hay but not near where I live.

Mazuri is also not available for the most part.

Does you piggies get fresh greens every day? If so then he is getting Vitamin C.

Basically, you can't count on them getting enough Vitamin C from any pellet. It helps if it's a stabilized Vitamin C, but even then the pellets lose Vitamin C over time. You really need to give them vegies and some fruit.

I feed my pigs KMs timothy pellets and timothy hay. For those with really bad hay allergies, I am having a hard time with the bluegrass I bought, but the pigs love it. It's not so bad if you buy it in bulk. I spent $65 and had hay and pellets for approx. 5-6 months.

Oxbow would be my second choice.

I feed my hamsters Mazuri and I'm happy with it. I haven't looked at the guinea pig formula so I can't say with it. Just make sure it doesn't have Ethoxyquin in it. It's a preservative that causes cancer. Two of my pigs have cancer b/c I use to feed food with that in there. (well, I'm not sure THAT is what caused it, but makes you wonder)
