Addition to the family -- new baby rats!

These guys are so incredibly tiny, especially the black hooded rat. Take a look at these pics:

Both ended up falling asleep in my hand earlier, and the black hooded rat furiously climbs up my fingers and into my hand for warmth and treats. They seem to enjoy wrestling with my hand as well! Can't wait to watch these guys grow up =]. They're in a separate cage right now because I wouldn't want them to get beat up or anything.

Oh and here's some pics of my gerbils/rat in the other multispecies cage I have...don't worry that cage only has animals that were all introduced as yung'ns and they sleep in a giant pile together hahaha:

edit:
Oh wait gotta get the hamster in there...

Okay I'm done.
Lol the little ones are tunnelling althroughout their bedding at the moment.

I think the black hoodie is just hitting 3 weeks while the cream(platinum?) hoodie is hitting 4 weeks.

Thanks about the gerbils . They make excellent pets. They are so smart and attentive...it's amazing how I had never considered them as a pet until I randomly bought one on impulse one day(had an extra cage...). They are very friendly, love seeds, NEVER bite...and the most amazing thing is that they do not smell at all. One week after I change their bedding i stick my head all the way into their cage, take a deep whiff, and I can't smell anything.

Okay I'll stop selling gerbils now

Hamster too? Oh I'm so jealous of you right now!!

They have a martins cage? (Going by the color & such)

Were they hard to introduce? Hamster + Gerbils + rats?
I love how they all are like the bestest of friends
This post made my mood much better thank you!!

Hahaha glad to hear
Yes, it's a pretty huge martin's cage -- I think it was called "The Rat Lodge." It's 18x30x24 so there's a ton of space. If it were 24 x 30 x 36 it'd be the size of my ferret cage hahaha. Anyways after the initial OMG WAT IS THAT THING IN THE CAGE WITH ME reactions, they got on just fine. The gerbils took the longest to integrate(and by longest I mean a week) because they are naturally territorial animals. But now it's pretty nice...they have a huge newspaper nest in a corner and they(rats + gerbils) usually all pile on top of the hamster like he's a pillow.

The rats are very cute! But where are their mommy? At 3 weeks, they are still too young to be away from mommy. Is this why you asked how rats do without mommy in other threads? What are you naming them?

Sorry for all the questions!

I am hoping to have a litter soon! I cannot wait to raise up little eepers again!

It's an interesting story. My friend is having a litter very soon and she's afraid the mother might die because she's very old. I was going to take some babies off of her(I still might) so that's why I originally asked. Funny enough, though...I was in a pet store just buying bedding and came across these two in the rat snake feeder cage(its mainly a fish store with small pet accessories and feeder rats/mice). I couldn't let them be sold for that so I bought them immediately hahaha. They were too tiny and friendly. But it seems it's okay...they'll live...their teeth are coming in and they are warm in the blanket I gave them. I was also worried they were removed way too soon from their mother. As for names -- no ideas yet! We will see

I would give them some dry bread soaked in soy milk for the extra protein. They really are a little too young to be away from mommy

I agree.Give them some milk soaked bread,as this helps them get used to eating solids. This is how I wean my babies,by giving them soft, milk soaked bread.
