Unhappy AHHH! Little problem...Lots of babies!!!

We had a little mishap with the 6 rats we have....One of my daughters let the male out while our 3 females were out playing in our bedroom....and....well we have three (YESS THREE!) litters, ranging from 4 to 6 weeks that I REALLY REALLY need to find a good home for. There are about 34 babies. I'm doing my best to give them all time to play, but my rats have now become a full time job that I can't continue to devote all my time to....I've got 3 kids, so its getting rediculiously difficult. If anyone knows any place (or anyone) who lives anywhere near Nashville PLEASE let me know. My husband or I would be willing to drive quite a ways to find these Sweet Peas a good home. (Please: Only someone who can take at least 10 or more) Hope someone out there can help

Thanks

Oh no! That's crazy! I would love to take some off of your hands, but I live too far away and I am not sure of anyone in the area. I'm sure you will find them great homes! Do you have any pics? Baby rats are SO cute!

You could try asking a humane society or something like that to help you find homes, that way you will be taking care of them, but they will help in the search.

Good Luck!

I live in Canada and cannot help.
Maybe there is a rescue that can help you?

Also I suggest keeping only one sex of rats if your daughter is going to be putting them together like that, because now your in this situation.

This is the only place I could find in your state that does rescue. They are a rattery though mainly, but they said they take in rescues sometimes...so maybe you could ask them for help? Maybe they can also point you in the right direction of another rescue?

If that doesn't pan out, If you are willing to contact GARMCA in Atlanta Ga, see if they can foster some for re-homing. If they are willing and have space, I'm in Birmingham, and would be able to help you by relaying them partway with a rat train if needed.

Here's the GARMCA link:

They may also have connections with fosters in and around Tennessee.
