Exclamation bubble foot

one of my rats has bubble foot. incase you dont know what it is, its a blister on this heal. it has been there for a while, i have been putting neosporne on it but it doesnt do anygood because he or his cage mates just lick it off. its looking pretty rough. any ideas what to do, or even how this happen. this is the same rat that in the past has had bad problems fighting abcess. perhaps something is wrong with his immune system where he doesnt heal properly.

I think you mean "Bumblefoot".

I've never had to deal with bumblefoot, but I did a search, and found this link that might be helpful: http://www.raisinrats.com/medical/bumblefoot.html
There are some treatments suggested and according to them it is hereditary.
