Bug's First Vet Visit

Poor, poor Bug. She went to the vet to get her teeth filed down, she was SO mad at me. Her teeth are completely better now, she can close her mouth and can eat properly. But on the way home, she wouldn't even look at me. She turned her back untill we got home and she got a yogurt drop.

At least she's established with a vet now, in case anything else happens and she needs to go back.

How long have any of your rats/mice "hated" you after something? Whether it be a bath, vet visit.. ?

I would not say they "hate" you,but might be a little mad or stressed from the situation.

I had a rescue rat with malocclusion and he had to go to the vet every few weeks to have his teeth trimmed. He didn't like it one bit and afterwards he would avoid me for the rest of the day.But he was always fine the next day.One time he would not keep still for the vet and they put him under (something I doubt I would do again for a tooth trim). He was so groggy and he would not even come hear me for the day, even when I offered him treats.Poor guy.

I also had rats "mad at me" after having to shove a syringe of meds in their mouth (they were too smart to eat baby food with meds in it) and bath times...but they always got over it.

One of my rats had to get a shot once, I forget why. But he ended up ripping out three of his nails on one foot because he freaked out. Took a lot of styptic powder to get them to stop bleeding. When I got him home he went into his igloo and wouldn't come out or even take treats for about 3 hours.

I have 2 grils that need teeth trimming one is old and she can eat the more softer foods but not to much hard so teeth trimming and the other when she was about 2 weeks old some who she got her jaw screwed up and it is sideways (this was before I got her) and she can eat fine but her teeth in the front are lined up enough were they cant trim them selves even with chew treats so they have to be done. Speeking of which thats to night they have to be done 1 a week every 7 days alomost they grow so fast. but the older one dont mind as in after words shes like finly I'm dont the other wow dose she ever get mad and want right back in her cage.

I think you are in the wrong place buddy.
You are the weirdest cat I ever seen.
Now matter how big or small wierd or normal we or animals may be we can learn to love and get along and love is what makes it all worth wild. Becuase Beautie is in the eye of the beholder an no one is ugly or more prettyer then anything eals we are all equal. There are some ugly people and things but that is becuase man kind makes them this way do to thier actions.
