Cage ideas

I was wondering if some of you could post pics of your rat and mouse cages so I could get some ideas of toys to put in mine. And I'd love to see some bin cages for mice. I'm trying to figure out how to make one in case my mice will be able to get outta their wire cage.

Thanks

I dont think i have got any pictures but here are some good ideas for toys.:
- Hamster igloos ( they LOVE them)
- Wheels ( no gaps between rungs - no broken bones)
- Cardboard (toilet roll) tubes
- Cardboard boxes
- Plastic guttering
- Digging columns ( not sure is mice burrow ??)
- Coconuts that have been hollowed out with a small hole either side for enterance
- Any rotostack plastic toys are loved by all fury critters
- Grass homes (can be bought realy cheap from ebay or wilkinson)
- Many plastic tubes ( can be atached together for more fun)

These are just ideas tell me if you need any more ideas.. Im not sure how to make a bin cage??? i have never heard of them.. Can't you buy one???

Bin cages are plastic storage bins. You can make them into a home for mice, gerbils, hamsters by cutting air holes or you could cut doors/windows and put mesh in its place.

They're much beter than tanks imo because they're lighter, cheap, easy to clean, etc.

Those are some great ideas! Ty

Can you make a hammock for rats/mice by tying the sleeves of a jacket or shirt together and they lay in the middle (underneath the tyed sleeves). I'm not sure if i just explained that very well....

sorry I don't have pics right now. but i can tell you all these ideas so far are great! i'm the queen of not buying anything (i'm resourceful, not cheap ). anything from the recycle bin is a green light. i also retire some of my old clothes for my rat. i lay them on the wire flooring, or i cut up to make hammocks and blankies. especially ones i've worn and donated without washing, my rat loves my clothes that smell like me!

I like to but as many toys as I can to fill their cage with, but the main essentule is the hammock, they couldn't live without one!

it's mainly rats that like them and they preffer to sleep in high places, jirds and other small animals preffer to burrow, so thats probably why
